An underground progressive rock act from the local scene.
Thaddeus Lowe is an experimental indie rock project based in Brooklyn, known for its rich tapestry of textural post-rock, psych-rock, krautrock, and prog-emo influences. Melding multi-instrumental songwriting with a deeply spiritual, mystical atmosphere, the project effortlessly bridges the gap between analog warmth and high-concept sonic exploration, finding a place sonically somewhere between The War on Drugs and Circa Survive. The project originally began as a solo bedroom pop venture by multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer Nadeem Gibran Salaam (The National, Suzanne Vega). In the project’s early stages, Salaam spent six years painstakingly composing, performing, mixing, and producing the cinematic track "They Came from Stardust" entirely on his own. Salaam's signature style blends his own cultural roots—incorporating Pakistani and Sufi motifs—with an obsession for early 2000s alternative rock giants like Radiohead and Oasis. Seeking to elevate the music from the confines of a bedroom setup into an immersive live experience, Salaam teamed up with guitarist C.J. Jourdan, his childhood friend and former bandmate from their early Long Island days in the band Apophenia. Together, their contrasting backgrounds and songwriting styles transformed Thaddeus Lowe into a collaborative force. They are working on their 4th LP slated for 2027.
