An underground hard rock act.
Out of the streets of Prague, Czech Republic, came The Agony, an all-female heavy rock foursome formed in 2013. The current line-up consists of the founder, rhythm guitarist and frontwoman, Nikola Kandoussi, drummer Martina Kajda Balcarová, bassist Domi Mrázková and lead guitarist Petra Pohanková. The band progressed from its edgy punkrock-like EP 'Loud And Furious' via the solid heavy rock debut Dirty and Dangerous, all the way through the more mature, deeper and well worked-out second album 689 and vibrant EP Eclectic, to their 10th anniversary-celebrating, anthemically powerful modern rock effort, Rising. Apart from countless headline shows and festival slots, the band's biggest success to date came in May 2022 with The Agony being chosen to support the legendary rockers Scorpions on their Rock Believer World Tour stop in Prague's largest indoor venue, O2 arena, playing in front of 16 000 crowd in their hometown. The Agony remain to be one of the very few all-female bands in their native country, they also make frequent concert visits to Europe and UK.
