An underground indie rock act.
"Bristle sharp, scrappy, and refreshingly unpolished, like a night out that spirals ridiculously out of control." Dreamed up in the concrete flat blocks of Rijswijk, The Bohemes run on the brotherly fire of Leon (vocals/guitar) and Gabriel Huisman (drums). Cited as The Hague's answer to The Libertines and The Jam, the band delivers an almost un-Dutch dose of swagger—weaving their own weekend wasteland of electric characters and sharp social observations into raw, infectious anthems. They’ve shared stages with Dutch heavyweights like De Staat and Bettie Serveert, alongside an ESNS Pinguin Radio showcase and Club 3voor12 Den Haag (2025)—backing it up by landing consecutive #1 spots on the IndieXL chart (Always Out At Midnight, What Happens When You Press Escape) and a Snob 2000 entry for Electric City. Currently on their two-part Wake Up Tour ahead of debut album Are You Still Awake?—mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Sam Fender) and set to drop soon.
The Bohemes play energetic indie and garage rock heavily influenced by 2000s revival bands like The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys.
