The Departures are a four-piece Wimp Rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2015 to win a high school talent show, they have since created three full-length albums and played everywhere from stadiums to sand dunes to bathrooms. Regularly drawing crowds to their engaging, lighthearted shows at LA venues like The Paramount and Permanent Records Roadhouse, The Departures have continued to build on their momentum in the Los Angeles area since moving from Vancouver, Washington, in 2024. Featuring January Massey on vocals and guitar, Shane Isom on lead guitar, Kira Gelbaugh on bass, and Joe-Henry McQuary on drums, The Departures are releasing their fourth studio album, Why The Long Face?, this July.
