The Droogettes
Next show: New York City, Sun 11 Oct
An underground riot grrrl act.
Tracks5
Philadelphia’s The Droogettes have been causing trouble since 2013. Equal parts street punk grit and pop hook glory, their “Sugar Oi!” sound sits somewhere between Cock Sparrer’s working-class anthems and Blondie’s downtown cool- melodic, hook-driven, and built for singing along. After a six-year hiatus, the all-female five-piece is back, louder and sharper than ever. Big choruses, gang vocals, and songs that stick in your head for days. The kind of punk that doesn’t apologize for being catchy.
