The Long Ryders
A nostalgic alt country artist.
The Long Ryders released a new studio album in March 2026 called HIGH NOON HYMNS via Cherry Red Records. Uncut magazine named it Americana Album Of The Month and Italy's leading music magazine Buscadero said it was Album Of The Month, period. The album SOLD OUT on vinyl & CD within 3 weeks of release! (Cherry Red repressed both of course.) The Long Ryders tour western Europe behind HIGH NOON HYMNS in April/May and return to the road to tour the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 in October. North American and Japanese dates? Fingers crossed. The band's previous album, September November, made many year end Best Of lists in 2023. Before this their album Psychedelic Country Soul hit NUMBER ONE in 2019 on both the official UK Americana/Alt-Country charts and Amazon UK's Americana chart. Both September November and Psychedelic Country Soul announced a bold new era for the Long Ryders. As part of the legendary L.A. Paisley Underground movement of the '80s, the Long Ryders were deeply influenced by the roots-centric approach of the the Flying Burrito Brothers and Buffalo Springfield, crossing that melodic sound with the energy of the Clash and the Ramones. (Producer Ed Stasium also helmed several Ramones albums.) Cherry Red Records has released 4 Long Ryders box sets; Final Wild Songs (a career overview), State Of Our Union, Two-Fisted Tales, and Native Sons. Each was a three disc set with multiple outtakes and with the final disc being a live concert from that particular era.
