The Tyrants

THE TYRANTS were formed in 2023 in Tallinn (Estonia) and initially it was just a jam project with intent to play some old-school extreme metal classic tunes for fun. Yeah, Celtic Frost's "Circle of the Tyrants" was the very first song we used to rehearse and play back then and eventually from there the name for the fresh cover band was borrowed. More rehearsed covers followed and the very first gig happened in August 2023 (it was some open air event) CF, Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera and so on: our set list of covers was constantly growing and more or less regular gigs followed. While some tunes were like "thing for one rehearsal" to prepare, others required significant time to get a decently sounding cover.. After the summer of 2025 important change occured in band's strategy: the shift from covering metal classics towards authentic metal art. It started from "Dead End Illusion", followed by "Beyond Power" and we then got a taste for it. Some songs are already released as music videos. Musically we are still an old-school influenced thrash/death metal carrying the spirit of those crazy times but with somewhat more modern sound. Now the band is continuing to work on new songs to release them as the first full length album. Current line-up: Raimo Karin - drums Vlad D.
