The What Four, are a high-voltage four-piece garage-pop band from the Southern California that blends 60s girl-group harmonies with gritty guitars, whip-smart lyrics, and anthems for the romantically over-it and perpetually underestimated. Formed in 2023, The What Four features vocalist and musician Katie Stratton; multi-instrumentalist songwriter Ryan Ratfield, best known from his work with Sons of August and Hank and Her Ponies; Marc Orrell, best known as a former member of the Boston celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys and his work with The Walker Roaders; Jeff Roffredo, a renowned psychobilly and reggae upright bassist known for his work with The Aggrolites and Tiger Army. The band is also accompanied by vocalist Tara Morris.
