Threestepstotheocean is an instrumental band founded in Milan, Italy, back in 2006. Operating strictly on a DIY ethos, the band has dropped five records across various labels and brought their live set to countless stages throughout Italy, Europe, and Japan. Starting out within the traditional boundaries of post-rock, TSTTO’s sound has been in a state of constant evolution—relentlessly expanding its scope to fuse metal, psychedelia, and global music influences into a deeply layered, fluid soundscape. Their new album, Death of Permanence—out October 16th 2026 via Subsound Records—marks the next step in this progression. Moving further away from well-trodden paths, the record sees the band embracing new collaborations with guest musicians, charting unfamiliar sonic territory, and opening the door toward ever-expanding horizons.
