To Athena
You may think that To Athena grew up as the child of Kate Bush and Mani Matter, and would have warbled the second voice to Queen songs on every vacation trip with Agnes Obel, Bon Iver and David Bowie in the back seat. And it's not that far-fetched: growing up in a family of violin makers, she spent her childhood singing to the 80s hits that Dad, a former DJ, put on. Today, To Athena channels all of this into her own distinctive cosmos: chamber pop meets indie, cinematic vastness meets intimate fragility. Singing in both English and Swiss German, she dives into underwater worlds and tells stories of longing, the helplessness we feel in today’s world, doubt, and that fleeting sense of magic we can’t hold on to — but desperately want to feel. With Aquatic Ballet (2020), she caught international attention. The Movie (2023) ventured even deeper into her inner world and earned her the Swiss Music Award (Artist Award) in 2023. Concerts across Switzerland and Germany followed, as well as five sold-out shows in Mexico in early 2026. In 2026, she is also part of Season 7 of Sing meinen Song – Schweiz. Her third album, Have I Lost My Magic?, will be released on May 22, 2026 — personal, playful, and bolder than ever. On stage, her universe expands into a full experience: To Athena performs with her 9-piece pop orchestra, including a string section and harp.
