TOP DOWN

Lo-fi garage punk trio based in Berlin and Portland, OR. TOP DOWN initially started out in May 2015 in Portland, OR as an international trio with band members from Germany, the US & NZ featuring szim (git/voc), Chuck Struggler (bass/voc) and musical globetrotter Fiona Campbell (dr) who played with Chain & The Gang, Vivian Girls & many more.. Shortly after the band formed Fred Cole (DEAD MOON, Pierced Arrows etc.) home-recorded & produced the band's 1st musical outcome that eventually turned into a 7" released by Voodoo Doughnut Recordings in May 2016. In March 2016 Berlin based artist Jay Gard joined the band for a couple of live shows in Berlin & Leipzig and the band's first US tour in the Pacific Northwest in 2016. Throughout February 2017 TOP DOWN joined Fred & Toody Cole's (DEAD MOON) last European Tour through NL, B, DK, SWE, N and FIN. In 2017 Voodoo Doughnut Recordings released TOP DOWN's debut album ROUGH ROADS. Fiona quit in April 2017. Shortly after Cristian Prigoană (RO) joined the band for a West Coast Tour in summer 2017 and played drums on the 2nd album HARD FEELINGS. After the recordings in February 2019 Cristian moved to London and Rayk Rolles took over the drums. The 3rd album "Backyard Thunder" was released in 2022 on No Chance Records Berlin. 2021/22 Lucas Gutzschebauch became the band's drummer after Rayk had quit. For a Westcoast US Tour 2022 Berlin based artist Jay Gard rejoined TOP DOWN and became a permanent band member since then.
