Travis Lake

Travis Lake is an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of choreography, digital production, and music composition, with a catalog surpassing four million streams. He holds a B.F.A. from the University of Utah (American Dance Movement National Scholarship), and a M.F.A. from Sam Houston State University (Jonathan Charles Endowed Scholarship). As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance at Sam Houston State University, his research investigates the interrelation of capital, community, and conflict within narrative-based work. He has choreographed over 50 works for organizations such as University of Minnesota, Sam Houston State University, Brigham Young University, University of South Carolina, Utah Valley University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and West Virginia University. As a composer, his original music compositions have been commissioned and presented by leading institutions, including Arts Umbrella, Ballet BC, Ballet West, Batsheva, Cincinnati Ballet, Giordano Dance Chicago II, The Guggenheim, Hong Kong Education Bureau, The National Ballet of Japan, Nederlands Dans Theater II, NobleMotion Dance, The Royal Swedish Ballet, Juliano Nunes, Ethan Colangelo, Flockworks, and Emma Portner.
