Twin Noir

Dark, driving, and relentlessly danceable: TWIN NOIR transform analog rawness into urban ecstasy. Between club haze, tape machines, and pulsating basslines, the Berlin-based project creates a sound that doesn’t quote post-punk, wave, or EBM, but reshapes them. Founded in Berlin in 2021, TWIN NOIR perform as a duo, but at their core operate as a passionately driven trio. Cody Barcelona (vocals, electronics, guitar) and Ian Volt (vocals, bass) form the creative heart of the band and stand at the center of their intense, high-energy live performances. The project is completed by Lina Avair, who oversees the operational side while also contributing creative impulses. When hardly anyone believed in the project, the three took matters into their own hands by learning, growing, and developing TWIN NOIR step by step through their one determination in a consistent, independent, and uncompromising way. Everything is handled in house: from the music and visuals to the organization and releases via their self-founded label Twin Noir Records. Together, they conceive TWIN NOIR as a holistic work of art, musically, visually, and conceptually. Their new album Chapter 3 expands their analog aesthetic while opening the sound to new tensions between club-focused precision and wider, more exploratory soundscapes. The album symbolizes the band’s journey so far: constant movement, transformation and the search for the moment when control tips into ecstasy.
