A homegrown, polished dance artist.
Dubbed a “scientist of sound” by peers, Tyr Kohout is a Toronto music producer who is also known as the engineer and DJ for vocalist flowanastasia. He has performed in Canada, UK and across Europe – notably at Rampage, Liquicity, Exit Festival, Get In Step and more. Tyr Kohout has released music on labels such as Shogun, Liquicity, Viper, Pilot, Hospital, Anjunabeats and Deviant Audio, with premieres including Drum&Bass Arena, VISION Radio, Inspector Dubplate, Skankandbass and STUDIO. He has showcased production tutorials and livestreams on STRANJAH’s YouTube channel to 100k+ subscribers. His sound design and recordings have been featured in Phase Plant preset packs and Deviant Audio sample libraries. He is also a podcast editor and re-recording mixer for MDE. Over the past 10 years, his style has encompassed minimal rollers, neurofunk, atmospheric liquid, halftime, dubstep and even jam-band-esque psychedelic funk, all with a mix of original sound design and instrument recordings.
