Umair is an alternative R&B and Hip Hop producer known for his distinctive, genre-bending sound. Born in 2003 in Karachi, Pakistan, as Muhammad Umair Tahir, Umair began making beats in his bedroom at just 13 years, inspired by producers like Mike Dean, WondaGurl, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott, he gradually developed a sound that blends atmospheric textures with hard-hitting hip-hop sensibilities. Umair initially explored house music in 2016 before transitioning into hip hop. His breakout moment came in 2019 with the debut single “Asli Hai” alongside Young Stunners, which made waves across the subcontinent and peaked at #1 on the Pakistani YouTube Charts. The release marked the beginning of a run that would help redefine the sonic direction of modern Pakistani hip hop. Since then, Umair has collaborated extensively with leading artists including Talha Anjum, Talhah Yunus, Hasan Raheem, Karan Aujla, Shamoon Ismail, Faris Shafi and many others contributing to several influential records that have played a significant role in shaping the country’s contemporary music scene. Expanding his vision beyond borders, Umair has also been instrumental in facilitating international collaborations, notably Smino & Kenny Mason and more— projects that broadened his artistic identity worldwide. With millions of streams and a rapidly growing global fanbase, Umair has established himself at the forefront of South Asian hip hop.
