A nostalgic, underground karadeniz folk artist.
I was born in a city of the South, Athens, with roots in Smyrna and Lesvos, the beloved island across the water from the lights of Asia Minor. I returned to this land in the heart of the Aegean after years of culturally creative living in Istanbul, where my own journey of songs unexpectedly began. I travelled throughout Greece, Turkey, Europe, performing my lyrics in amazing musical scenes in the company of charismatic musicians from around the world, I have constantly been putting tiles in the mosaic of the Greek-Turkish cultural synergy. I got to know the four corners of the earth by participating with the local lamellophone mbira in all-night rain calling ceremonies in arid villages in Zimbabwe, I experienced the third world in the mud houses of Mozambique singing with the fishermen in the foam of the Indian ocean. I murmured melodies to the stones and streams in the birch forests outside Moscow, speechless I remained and spellbound in the lakes of Canada and psalms I chanted in the stone-cut churches of Cappadocia, facing the summit of Argaios, descending into the underground cities of the soul. The memory of nostos led me back to the heart of the Aegean to find the crossroads within me, always grateful to the Muse who, through Music and the Word, whirls me into an inspiring life adventure.
