Vulkan
From Karlstad, Sweden. Vulkan started working together in 2006 with an un-named, unestablished configuration. As they grew it later became obvious they were much heavier than they first imagined, which is what inspired the name VULKAN; meaning ‘Volcano’ in Swedish. Mask Of Air, 2011 Observants in 2016. Technatura in 2020. "In the world of heavier progressive rock (or lighter progressive metal, take your pick), this album (Technatura) is unmatched in 2020. Epic-length, wonderfully arranged songs are tempered with shorter numbers with more immediate gratification, just a couple of interludes, and (thankfully) no prelude or intro. These Swedes are firmly on my radar now, and future releases will not slip by unnoticed. They shouldn’t slip by you, either." - Angry Metal Guy "Vulkan is a very recent discovery and I was immediately hooked when diving into their latest LP, Technatura. Although they do have their own voice and identity, there's plenty of easter eggs to discover that hint at the band's wide range of progressive influences. I'm excited to dig deeper into the layers that this record holds and I highly recommend it for any other open-minded metalhead." - Riley Rowe, Metal Injection
