V.V.I.A. first came to life the moment Cretan native Venus Volcanism and Copenhagen-born In Atlas collided. Still strangers, they moved in together in an apartment in Athens, where their instant connection demanded an outlet for their shared interests and sensibilities. The band's artistic tapestry is woven with longing, anger, and ruminations on society, love, and existence. Merging haunting vocals and radiant pads with the enigmatic voice of a theremin, the duo crafts a potent synth-driven sound that moves beyond nostalgia. They have released music on labels such as Women of V.V.I.A., Vinylograph, Phormix, and Meta Moto. Their new album, I Knew You Before We Met, will be out on Inner Ear Records in the spring of 2025.
