Wormhog
An underground stoner metal artist.
Being loyal supporters of everything that’s heavy, Wormhog draws inspiration from bands such as Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Alice In Chains and Blue Öyster Cult. Clearly influenced by their musical background, the band’s main direction in songwriting is retro grooves merged with progressive twists and swirling guitar solos. Five years after Yellow Sea (2020), Wormhog return with their new album Transience (2025), marking a new chapter in their sonic identity. The progressive rock/metal band from Tripolis leaves the stoner riffs and desert aesthetic of their debut behind, diving deeper into psychedelic and progressive currents while further developing its grunge and metal character. "Transience" captures a band that has matured, experimented, and found a new balance between melody and psychedelia. With strong rhythmic variety, a narrative structure, and atmospheric passages, the album creates a unified sonic journey that explores the fragility of human existence and the struggle against decay and alienation. The album was produced and recorded at D Studio and will be independently released on December 10, 2025. The band's first LP, “Yellow Sea” was released in 2020 and was recorded, mixed and produced at D Studio, Athens by Mike Karpathiou. “A trip through space, a strange eclipse of the sun, the birth of a monster, it’s fall from the sky and into the Yellow Sea”. The band’s first EP, “Mother Worm Father Hog” (2014) was once again recorded live at D Studio Athens.
