X-Dream
A high-energy, polished psytrance artist.
X-Dream is a German electronic music duo formed in 1989 by Marcus Christopher Maichel, also known as The Delta, and Jan Horns Müller. They are known for their distinctive sound within the psychedelic trance genre, often incorporating elements of Goa trance and techno. At first, they concentrated on a techno sound, however, after experiencing the underground trance scene in Hamburg during the early 90s, they switched to that style and subsequently made a large number of releases... X-Dream's first two albums, "Trip to Trancesylvania" (1994) and the acclaimed "We Created Our Own Happiness" (1996), were released on the German label Tunnel Records. Their most celebrated album, "Radio", was released in 1998 on the British label Blue Room Released. Their 2002 album "Irritant" was released on Global Trance Network and sold out within days of initial pressings. In 2004, "We Interface" was released on Solstice Music Japan, embracing a more modern sound inspired by techno and electro, and featuring vocals from singer Ariel Electron. Their latest album, "X-Dream Remixed", was released on Flying Rhino in 2017. Interestingly, their entire catalog was later reissued on their own label, Gravity Plus Records. Although their music retains the simple drum patterns of the "Goa" style and a certain reliance on riffs, X-Dream has an unmistakable sound characterized by its solid foundations, immense aura and intense psychedelic effects and is virtually unmatched in this type of production.
