Open Lab #6: Gregory Pearce & gega.fisk
An underground, homegrown experimental night.
Gerichtstraße 35, 13347 Berlin, Germany
silent green presents the second edition of the Open Lab, a platform for Berlin-based musicians and performance artists. Gregory Pearce is a Berlin-based experimental musician from New Zealand. His practice integrates guitar improvisation, collage-style sampling, and minimalist songwriting to produce intimate yet abstract sonic landscapes. His work focuses on capturing raw acoustic qualities and transforming them into experimental compositions. gega.fisk is a duo comprising artists Gega and Fisk. Their name reflects the Swedish and Eritrean words for 'fish' and 'wrong', exploring themes of being an outsider. Their music translates personal experiences of trauma and healing into socially critical poetry and bass-driven soundscapes. Fisk is a DJ and sound engineer rooted in DIY culture, while GEGA uses rhythm and voice to navigate self-determined positioning in the world.
