Waanzin!
In een grensverleggend concert verkent het Nederlands Kamerkoor de dunne lijn tussen gekte en genialiteit. Waanzin! is een ontmoeting van oosterse mystiek en Italiaanse laat-renaissance, waarin de muziek niet alleen een spiegel is voor de menselijke geest, maar ook een manier om over de grenzen van tijd en ruimte te denken. Deze theatrale reis verbindt de mystieke poëzie van de ‘gestoorde’ 9e-eeuwse soefist Al-Halladj met de psychologische diepten van de Italiaanse renaissancecompononist Carlo Gesualdo. Het concert bevat een nieuw werk van de Frans-Libanese componist Zad Moultaka, gebaseerd op teksten van de mysticus Al-Halladj. Voor klavecimbel tekent Mahan Esfahani, door The Guardian bestempeld als ‘harpsichord superstar’.
