An underground contemporary classical night.
A 60-piece orchestra, 22 gongs, a horns ensemble, and divided strings converge at Halle am Berghain for the next edition of Orchestral Sessions. Presented in total darkness, the program explores acoustic and psychological intensity through works by Gérard Grisey, Charles Ives, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, György Ligeti, and a new composition by Berlin-based conductor Avi Caspi. The performance features Grisey’s 'Accords perdus', Ives’ 'The Unanswered Question', Mozart’s 'Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546', Ligeti’s 'Ramifications', and Caspi’s 'Prefix', a work written specifically for orchestra, 22 gongs, and horns.
