Bohemian Balkan Night: Nadara Transylvanian Gypsy Band - Nadara Transylvanian Gypsy Band

Nadara

A danceable, nostalgic world fusion night.

9:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Mezrab

Veemkade 576, 1019 BL Amsterdam, Netherlands

Nadara stands today among Eastern Europe’s most electrifying contemporary Romani ensembles. The band first gained international attention through filmmaker Tony Gatlif, who featured them in his film Transylvania and entrusted them with its soundtrack. Born from the artistic union between Alexandra, a French-born nomadic singer, and Tocila, a Roma violinist from Szaszcsávás, Nadara delivers a high-voltage stage experience that blends Transylvanian Romani heritage with the musical soul of the wider Carpathian region. Their virtuoso ensemble reimagines traditional Hungarian and Romanian repertoires that once inspired great composers such as Franz Liszt and Béla Bartók. Beyond a concert, the musicians and dancers fuse East-West influences into a vibrant, bohemian, immersive ritual.
