The French string quartet Quatuor Agate made its debut a decade ago and has progressed to become one of the finest among today’s young chamber groups. In this performance, they pair Haydn’s tuneful Op. 20 No. 4 with the melodious second of Korngold’s string quartets, written shortly before his first visit to Hollywood in 1933.
