Asgeir Trausti Einarsson, better known simply as Asgeir, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter based in Reykjavik. His music is a melodic form of folk that emphasizes subtlety and clever construction, often compared to fellow Icelandic musicians like Bjork and Sigur Ros. He gained significant success with his 2012 debut album, 'Dýrð í dauðaþögn', which topped the Icelandic charts. An English version of the album was released in 2013 with assistance from John Grant, featuring singles like 'Torrent' and 'King and Cross'. Before his solo career, Einarsson was a guitarist for the band The Lovely Lion.
