Maailmamuusika. The Naghash Ensemble

The Naghash Ensemble combines Armenian folk music with modern classical composition, post-minimalism, and accents of rock and jazz. Directed by Armenian-American composer John Hodian, the group features three vocalists alongside traditional instruments including the duduk, oud, and dhol, accompanied by piano. Their performance of „Songs of Exile“ draws on the medieval poetry of Armenian priest and mystic M’krtich Naghash, offering an evocative exploration of human exile and spirituality.
