A danceable, queer electronic night.
After the triumph of the first edition, the waacking battle imagined by Princess Madoki returns under the glass roof of the Grand Palais to open the Festival Paris l’été 2026. Extravagant, inclusive, and festive, waacking emerged as a space for expression and freedom in the Black and Latino LGBTQ+ communities of the US West Coast in the 1970s. Since the 2000s, it has seen a global revival, bringing together diverse artists and audiences in international battles that celebrate personality and self-affirmation. Josepha Madoki (alias Princess Madoki) leads this fiery second season featuring over a hundred participants from around the world. The competition is judged by four global references: Lip J (Korea), Ebony (Canada), and last year's winners Akuma Diva and Bogie (Taiwan). DJ Naajet and MC Matyouz provide the electric soundtrack for the battle, jams, and showcases.
