GLENN JONES + LIAM GRANT
An evening full of raw American Primitive fingerpicking featuring a double bill of Glenn Jones and Liam Grant. Glenn Jones is a master of American Primitive Guitar, a style pioneered by John Fahey. Jones, former leader of the post-rock ensemble Cul de Sac, utilizes custom tunings and partial capos to create lyrical and emotive compositions for banjo and guitar. Over ten albums, he has developed a unique fingerstyle voice rooted in memory and personal melodic grammar. Liam Grant is a New England guitarist with a punk ethos, following the American Primitive tradition of John Fahey and Robbie Basho. His music explores modal epics and driving rags, heavily influenced by the landscapes of his New England upbringing. His debut album 'Amoskeag' and the lo-fi statement 'Prodigal Son' have established him as a significant rising voice in the steel-string tradition.
