Lil June Afro Punta, Gahfu Garifuna Drumming Ensemble and Grupo Bomba Mix celebrate Garifuna music and culture. Part of the MAC LA 2026 Summer Concert Series, this evening honors the rich musical traditions and cultural heritage of Central America. Opening the evening is Grupo Bomba Mix, delivering an energetic blend of Afro-Caribbean and Latin rhythms. They are followed by the GAHFU Garifuna Drumming Ensemble, a collective dedicated to preserving and sharing the traditions of the Garifuna people through music and dance including Punta, Paranda, and Wanaragua. Headlining the evening is Lil June Afro Punta, a leading ambassador of contemporary Garifuna music who blends traditional Punta rhythms with modern influences.
