Orchestrated from a dream of pagan ritual, the work features ferocious harmonies and pounding rhythms that helped usher in the Modern era. Also on the program is Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto performed by three-time Grammy winner Hilary Hahn. Known for her technical and musical talents, Hahn performs the lush themes and affectionate shapes of the concerto with astounding tone.
