Greek/Scottish guitarist and composer James McEwan and French/Greek drummer Alex Coulon first met while studying at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Since then, they have played together across different projects and musical contexts, developing an intuitive approach to improvisation and experimentation. James is part of the Netherlands-based audiovisual project Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes, while Alex is a founding member of Amaguk, whose music draws on jazz, punk, drum & bass and Mediterranean influences. Alex is now based in Athens, while James continues to work from the Netherlands. For this special duo performance, electric guitar and live electronics meet drums, moving between free jazz, ambient textures and experimental rock. The set explores spontaneous interaction, shifting soundscapes, rhythmic intensity and noise, with the music developing in real time. This will be the first time James and Alex perform together as a duo in Greece, making this a rare opportunity to hear their collaboration in this particular format.
