Fenix and Kaapverdisch Goud join forces for a special edition of Liberdade, entirely dedicated to morna, the musical heart of Cape Verde. Morna is more than a music style; it tells stories of love, longing, migration, and connection. The program includes a market with Cape Verdean snacks, books, art, and handmade products. There is also an exhibition titled ‘Casa di Cabral’ by The Black Archives, a documentary film ‘Manuel d’Novas’ followed by a panel discussion, and a vinyl session with DJ Pantcha. The musical highlight features Jacqueline Fortes performing an ode to morna that transitions into swinging coladeira music.
