Austin's first African Drum and Dance Festival features three days of live performances, drum and dance workshops, and community celebrations with master artists from Africa and the African diaspora. The festival includes two evening performances at the Boyd Vance Theater inside the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, workshops across multiple locations, and a free closing West African party at Sahara Lounge.
The festival takes place from November 6 to 8, 2026, with main evening performances at the Boyd Vance Theater inside the George Washington Carver Museum at 1165 Angelina St, Austin, alongside workshops at multiple locations and a closing party at Sahara Lounge.
Performers include master artists Aboubacar Sylla and Bramaya, among other participants from Africa and the African diaspora.
