Two Miles A Day is a joint project from pianist Jacob Sacks and bassist Eivind Opsvik. The ensemble explores a wide range of moods, from swinging tunes to free abstraction, while maintaining a playful and creative spirit. This performance features saxophonist and flutist Hery Paz alongside the group's core members and drummer Billy Mintz. The project originated from a desire to play with the late Paul Motian, leading to a recording that has become an underground jazz classic. Following Motian's passing, they have continued to perform with various esteemed drummers, eventually recording a follow-up with Mintz, a master of the New York jazz scene known for his unique and unpredictable style.
