New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra meets the next generation
In this unique collaboration, the New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra joins forces with a new generation of creators from Codarts. Three finalists of the Erasmus Jazz Prize present their work in a completely new light, specially arranged and performed by the orchestra. The evening features seven brand-new compositions, showcasing a mix of energy, experiment, and unique voices ranging from intimate solos to a full ensemble sound. To mark the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus Jazz Prize, NRJO and Codarts have teamed up to celebrate emerging talent. Original music by guest artists Paco Fernandez, Gabriel Cassaro, and Vishal Singh Rebari is arranged for the orchestra by selected Codarts students. Additionally, composition students Linde Tillmanns and Harm Kolen make their debut with new work written specifically for this occasion.
