Geert Mak & Ramon van Engelenhoven — Amerika: een democratie gered

In the week of the US midterm elections, Geert Mak examines a historical period a century ago when American democracy was under significant pressure. He discusses how Roosevelt's New Deal guided the nation through this critical era. Accompanying the narrative, Ramon van Engelenhoven performs piano compositions by Gershwin, Copland, Stravinsky, and Korngold. These musical pieces reflect the social and political developments of the time, creating an evening where spoken word and music alternate seamlessly.
