Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra: Verdi Requiem - René Barbera

Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra: Verdi Requiem

An underground contemporary classical night.

The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra presents a powerful performance of Verdi’s Requiem at St Paul’s Cathedral. Dedicated to the heroes of Ukraine, this monumental work of memorial art is paired with the UK premiere of Gloria, a new composition by Ukrainian composer Bohdana Frolyak. Conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson, the orchestra is joined by the Philharmonia Chorus and a distinguished quartet of soloists. Formed in 2022 as a direct response to the invasion of Ukraine, the orchestra serves as a testament to the nation's resilient culture and spirit.
