Koshun Nakao & Rieko Makita

Tokyo-based composer-producer Koshun Nakao and London-based pianist-composer Rieko Makita team up for an intimate collaborative show at SJQ. Blending improvisation, ambient textures, and contemporary classical influences, the duo performs in one of London's most intimate settings, offering a rare opportunity to experience their intricate interplay up close. Koshun Nakao's style marries piano with warm ambient soundscapes, cementing his status as a notable voice in Japan's neo-classical scene. Rieko Makita, classically trained at the Royal College of Music, creates textured, colourful soundscapes exploring themes of migration and belonging, following performances at venues including the Royal Albert Hall.
