Iordache: Spaces
An underground, homegrown hard bop night.
In a special series of concerts marking the 40th anniversary of his debut, saxophonist Iordache presents compositions from his extensive career and upcoming projects. The performance, titled 'Spaces,' explores a central jazz concept where improvisation is given room to breathe within open musical structures. The program features works from his eight leader albums and selections from a new trilogy dedicated to the Titan neighborhood of Bucharest. Joining him is an ensemble of accomplished musicians: Sorin Romanescu, a leading figure in Romanian jazz guitar; American improviser Aram Shelton, who brings the influence of Chicago and San Francisco free-jazz; powerhouse drummer Gabi Matei; and versatile bassist Ionuț Deliu. The evening promises a refined exploration of contemporary jazz and creative improvisation.
