Hi-Fi Night School Year Three continues its Global Studies series with a session dedicated to the rich history of Romanian music. This installment features Elliot and Lucas from the Los Angeles-based Pop Overbite Records, who will guide the audience through a curated listening experience. The evening explores Romanian folk traditions, popular recordings, and experimental works shaped by the country's cultural and political landscape. The session highlights how music serves as a living record of history and cultural resilience. Selections include everything from village ballads to post-socialist reinventions. The event is hosted in a dedicated listening space featuring a bespoke OJAS speaker system with Accuphase amplification. Proceeds from the night benefit music programs in local schools, and the experience is complemented by regionally inspired libations from Vanessa and Alisa Catering.
