An open-air, homegrown afro house night.
To close out the dynamic 2026 Governors Island Arts season, Bebop Porú returns as an outdoor dance party featuring global sounds, celebrating a summer brimming with art on the island. BeBop Porú merges Black American dance music with rhythms from Africa, the Caribbean, and South America. Powered by the hot-pink speakers of Karlala Soundsystem, the event brings together Brooklyn-based selectors Mickey Pérez and DJ L3Ni to celebrate diasporic sounds against the New York skyline.
