A slow-burn vocal jazz night.
Perla Batalla returns to BroadStage for an evening of music and storytelling. Her performance is shaped by a lifetime of musical discovery, from her roots in Venice, CA, to her family's record shop filled with the songs of legendary Latin American singers. Batalla's artistic journey includes a background in Jazz and the American Songbook, as well as years spent touring and collaborating with Leonard Cohen. These influences culminate in her own original compositions, including the "Mestiza" song cycle, which explores the splendor and struggle of her mixed-race heritage.

The performance occurs on January 31, 2027, at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage located at 1310 11th St, Santa Monica.
Her show combines vocal jazz, folk influences, and storytelling, highlighting original compositions from her Mestiza song cycle.
