An underground, raw avant-garde night.
The Ensemble intercontemporain celebrates its 50th anniversary with a special tribute to its founder, Pierre Boulez. In this unique interactive performance, the audience is invited to vote for their favorite works from the ensemble's extensive repertoire, essentially creating a contemporary live jukebox. The evening features the world premiere of Pierre Boulez's Dérive 3, a new work for brass and percussion that develops themes from his 1946-47 cantate Le Visage nuptial. Joining the ensemble is British turntablist Mariam Rezaei, blending experimental contemporary music with modern deck techniques for a one-of-a-kind seasonal opening.
