George Benjamin celebrates 40 years of friendship with the Ensemble intercontemporain in a concert dedicated to the concerto. The program explores various facets of the genre, from Dieter Ammann's No templates, which challenges concerto conventions with its viola soloist, to Unsuk Chin's Piano Concerto, a tribute to her childhood instrument. The evening concludes with George Benjamin's own Concerto for Orchestra, composed in memory of Oliver Knussen, capturing his unique energy and humor.
