Rearranging Rock
An underground, raw oyun havası night.
10858 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230
A performance by Maral and her visual collaborator Annapurna Kumar, Rearranging Rock explores sounds and images related to geologic time and the contents of the earth's core. Inspired by molten metals and radioactive rays, the artists translate material facts into sonic riffs and visual gestures. The performance features new work inspired by pilgrimages throughout the mountains and deserts of Southern California, welding workshops, and the folk music of Persia and India. Part of the Wende Museum’s experimental music series FRAMEWORKS, this performance examines the frameworks through which we narrate the past and imagine the future. Doors to the A-Frame Theater open at 1:45 p.m., followed by a garden reception until 4 p.m.
