A mainstream classical night.
Europe’s first majority-Black and ethnically diverse orchestra, Chineke!, returns for the BBC Proms. The evening begins with the world premiere of a suite by South Carolina-born composer Edmund Thornton Jenkins. Renowned American soprano Angel Blue performs Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, alongside new arrangements of 20th-century American classics. The second half features Dvořák’s ecstatic nature-inspired Symphony No. 8. Part of the 2026 BBC Proms festival.
