Cory Hanson, best known as the frontman of the adventurous rock collective Wand, showcases a more intimate yet wilder sound in his solo work. Since his 2016 debut, the Los Angeles-based artist has crafted a body of work that balances between dreamy folk, fuzzy guitar storms, and cinematic sensitivity. His albums explore the fringes of Americana and psychedelic rock, ranging from whispered softness to sharp, exuberant peaks. His latest record, I Love People (2025), merges these worlds with warm melodies and rich arrangements reminiscent of 1970s singer-songwriters, filtered through his unique perspective. Accompanied by his regular band members, Hanson delivers a sound that is both layered and direct—classic yet modern, melancholic and playful. Live performances are intense experiences where his voice floats and his guitar lines twist like dust clouds through an open landscape.
