Jay and the Americans are a celebrated pop and blue-eyed soul group from Queens, New York. Founded in 1961, they achieved major success with hits like "She Cried," "Only In America," "Come A Little Closer," and "Cara Mia." Originally fronted by John "Jay" Traynor and later by David "Jay Black" Black, the group has maintained a legacy as a powerful live act for over half a century. The current lineup features founding members reunited with vocalist John "Jay" Reincke, continuing to perform their classic 1960s repertoire.
