Dvořák: The Chamber Music Survey, Celebrating America's 250th
A nostalgic, raw chamber music night.
In commemoration of the United States semiquincentennial, the Dvořák American Heritage Association presents a concert spotlighting Antonín Dvořák's chamber works composed in Spillville, Iowa in 1893: the Op. 96 "American" Quartet and the Op. 97 String Quintet. The performance by the Sullivan Quartet is accompanied by a pre-concert discussion led by musicologist David Catchpole, examining Dvořák's engagement with American soundscapes and culture.
